Terry Pellmar’s artistic pursuits began after she retired from a career in science. She taught herself digital art techniques and trained with local artists in traditional artistic media. Terry says, “I paint what moves me; with my art, I try to capture the essence of a scene and allow a viewer to experience it through my eyes.”

Terry taught herself digital art techniques and trained with local artists in traditional artistic media. An electronic stylus is her paintbrush and a computer screen is her canvas.
She says, “With digital brushes, software filters, and layered textures, I express my vision of the world. The conversion from digital pixels to a printed image is part of the creative process; different printing surfaces, traditional and non-traditional, can have profound effects. To further enhance a mood I may also use classical media (e.g., acrylic paints, watermedia) over a digital print. My art is continually evolving as I incorporate new techniques and try new approaches.”
Pellmar’s work has won numerous awards and honors in various competitions in the Baltimore/DC metro area and in venues in solo and group exhibitions as well as juried shows.
