Randi says, “My work is a juxtaposition of weighted organic form and sharp polished edges. I approach glass like a painter to a canvas or a weaver using thread to create an intricate tapestry. The coloration, vivid and original, is reminiscent of a swatch of fabric.
“Creating to me is knowing that my pieces will touch people and invite them to go on a journey to an undiscovered place. I want them to get lost in the coloration, design, optical depth and layers of visual texture I have created. Watching them brings satisfaction to my soul.”
Randi first established Solinglass Studio in Mt. Shasta, California in 1995, relocating in 1998 to Brattleboro, Vermont.
Her work has been acquired by the permanent collections of The White House, The United States Embassies in Algeria, Guinea, Praia, Mauritania and Benin, Africa, Guatemala and Paraguay, and has been seen in solo and group shows in fine art glass galleries and museums across the country.
