Vicki Clarkson says, “I began my life-long journey of creating art in the fashion and interior design field, but soon grew to a more expressive form of watercolor and mixed media work. I am located in western Maryland and after taking a significant hiatus from galleries and marketing, I am stepping back into a whole new experience of celebrating my painting style. I hope to find a new audience for my expressive watercolors.”

Vicki’s artwork is created using a mix of multiple water mediums, primarily watercolor. Paintings are executed on both archival paper and stretched canvas. She creates both textural and organic abstractions. The many loose washes that build actual texture and implied movement are deliberate, expressive and fluid.
Clarkson says, “Exploring the environments that we enjoy gave me motivation to express with color and visual artistry. My sketches grew into more fluid, artistic and abstracted presentations. I soon found my passion was in creating bodies of works and collections of watercolors showing the limitless boundaries of the medium. I push my work to express visual poetry for a broad audience.”
Vicki has exhibited in numerous galleries and special events and currently lives in Frederick, MD.
